We visited VGs to purchase some ground beef for potluck lasagna for my son,5pound of ground meat for 7$/pound cost us 40$ plus gst,pst of course.Next morning the meat lost all of its colour turned colourless in the refrigerator, when we pre-cooked the meat removed two cups of fatty lards .Well - we are more than disappointed - not happy.We are not going to return to VGs in the future - that is for sure. Staying with Costco or with De Koning Meat for future purchases. Food prices are high enough, but this is not acceptable !
Staff always delightful and knowledgeable. And usually something new to experience. Today was looking for healthy and different. They steered me to Caldo Verde soup. Delicious! As well as the old standard thick cut bacon, curds, etc. ??
Perhaps change hours on google to actually reflect the store hours. Shows open on Sundays when indeed not open. Waste of a trip + not open= poor review.
Grabbed 2 strip loins to bbq while camping. Was dark when I cooked them, I overcooked them and they came out medium well. Still cut easily with a plastic knife and tasted fantastic. Customer for life!
We are moving ten minutes away from you. The baseball steaks we bought last summer were so delicious and you will be our regular butcher. We are curious if we can call ahead to place orders to bring home? Interested in a small steak order. Or is it better just to walk in for smaller orders like six steaks? Thank you very much!
Very good meats and nicely presented. Prices are definitely higher than some of the other local butchers. Staff are efficient but not very engaging when looking for recommendations.
Small store somewhat fast service. Knowlegable staff. The food cuts for steak ham and bacon are all excellent. The ground beef is good too especially when you get the 10lb at amazing price. Prices are comparable to big chains regular prices when not on special.
